How to Store Cheese

In France, we store cheese in the basement in a wooden box with a screen. This method of storage keeps the cheese fresh for weeks. The humidity and temperature of my home in the states won't allow me to store cheese in the same manner, so I went on a search for a solution and found these cheese bags. Storing your cheese in these cheese bags in the refrigerator will keep your cheese fresh for weeks.

French Cheese Bags

These cheese bags by Formaticum are made in France and designed to let cheese breathe while preserving freshness so your cheese will not dry out.

How to Store Cheese

To use, remove the plastic wrapping from your cheese and place it in a Formaticum cheese bag, and place it in your refrigerator. You can store hard cheese, blue cheeses, and goat cheese but not a cheese that needs to be stored in water such as mozzarella or feta.

I suggest writing the name of the cheese on the bag, and the bags can be reused. I keep the empty bags in the refrigerator until I need them again.

You will be amazed at how long it lasts and how fresh it remains without drying out. Try some today and they also make a unique and interesting gift.
