French Fruit Salad

You can almost always find a fruit salad on menus in France. A fruit salad is the perfect example of a healthy dessert. If you normally don't serve dessert, consider this. Dessert is the third course in a meal; it doesn't have to be a rich or sugary option.   The benefit of serving dessert is the it helps you serve enough food to satisfy everyone without having to cook something. When using fresh fruit that is in season, you can always make a delicious and healthy third course.

Optional- fresh lemon juice, orange juice, or herbs


Prepare your fruit and toss it in a bowl.

Fruit salads can be made ahead of time and served for several days. Then, when the juices marinate together, the fruit salad tastes even better.

To make variations try adding fresh lemon juice, orange juice, and the lemon or orange zest. Fresh basil or mint is also delicious!
