Grapes and Gouda

When entertaining and serving a big meal, serve grapes and Gouda cheese as a light appetizer—having a light apéritif before dinner prevents everyone from ruining their appetite. Nothing complicated about this aperitif, and the flavor combination is impressive. Grapes and gouda is also an excellent ideas for your kids' apéritif while you are preparing dinner.

Cut the Gouda into small cubes and assemble on toothpicks with the grapes. 
I prefer aged Gouda because it has a richer flavor but it can crumble easily. So go slowly when placing on the toothpick to prevent it from falling apart. 


These apéritif ideas are also great for everyday and to serve to children while you’re getting dinner ready. Serve them a few grapes and Gouda, as an apéritif as the start to a healthy meal.

 I often cook "au pif", as we say in France, which means without a recipe.  You’ll find this style of cooking helps you cook faster and makes cooking easier. With many recipes, you don’t need exact measurements, just a little kitchen intuition.
